The current outbreaks and spread of measles in many parts of the world, including China, Vietnam, the Philippines and Japan, require those planning an overseas trip to take the following preventive measures for their safety when they travel abroad.
□ Typical signs and symptoms of measles
○ (Symptoms) The early signs and symptoms of measles are similar with those of influenza typically including dry cough, runny nose, inflamed eyes (conjunctivitis) and fever, gradually leading to the spread of skin rash, first on the face and then the rest of the body

□ Measles Guidelines for Those Traveling Abroad
○ (Before traveling abroad) Visit the official website of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) to get detailed information of the infectious disease in their destination country* and, for those unvaccinated or incompletely vaccinated, take two doses of MMR vaccine at the nearest medical institution.

○ (After traveling abroad) If you have any measles symptom, diarrhea, skin rash, fever or dry cough, after returning home from traveling abroad, wear a surgical mask before promptly visiting the nearest medical institution to consult doctor and receive the treatment you need. You may also contact the KCDC at 1339 (☏) to get specialist information about your condition.
